FedUni fundraising appeal
Federation University Australia has raised more than $25,500 for charity through last year's Christmas in July and August fundraising efforts. Held at both the Mt Helen and Gippsland campuses, the events enabled hundreds of staff, students and the community to donate generously to a range of charitable causes.
The initiatives included a luncheon attended by more than 250 people at the Mt Helen Campus supporting the Ballarat 3BA Appeal, a dinner at the Gippsland Campus supporting Uniting Care Gippsland and four student community dinners, hosted by our residential student leaders, supporting a range of charities and community groups.
“The University community can be extremely proud of the contribution we make each year and the amount raised in 2016 is no exception,” Colin Marshall, Director of Campus Life, said “These much needed funds will support local, national and international charities and support services. This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of our staff, students, sponsors and the community who donated items and attended these events,” Mr Marshall said.
"My chosen course will provide me with the skills to work effectively with a number of qualified certified practicing accountants and chartered accountants currently in Timor-Leste."
“I started out by attending the FAST program and it was there that the staff encouraged me to continue with my studies and to reach my full potential”
"At FedUni, staff have always been helpful and the small classroom sizes provide a more personal education. I’d like to work in the IT industry to gain enough experience until I can my own business and FedUni will help me get there."
